Two men are accused of beating a bouncer and another man inside a Port Washington tavern Saturday night.

Two men are accused of beating a bouncer and another man inside a Port Washington tavern Saturday night.

Eric O. Brown, 23, of Mequon, and Brandon R. Jones, 24, of Milwaukee, were charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court on Monday with one count of substantial battery and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, they each face up to 21 months in prison and $11,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

At 12:43 a.m. Saturday, Port Washington police officers were called to The Railroad Station, 200 S. Railroad St., on the report of a fight between several men. When officers arrived, they found several men with lacerations and one man with injuries trying to walk away, but was eventually stopped.

One of the victims said he was a bouncer at the bar and he was informed of a fight on the other side of the bar. He went with another man and found Jones taking a swing at another patron.

The bouncer and other man worked to halt the fight, but they soon became targets of violence in the incident from both Jones and Brown. Both men were pushed down the stairs outside of the tavern and got into an altercation with a man smoking a cigarette outside.

Brown is currently free on $500 bond while awaiting trial and Jones is free on $750 bond.

... This "Saukville bar" also happens to be a "Port Washington tavern." Editing mistake I'm guessing. I live near the Railroad Station; It's definitely in Saukville. Question therefore remains - Which police department was called/responded?

There is the Railroad Station in Saukville & the R & R Bar & Grill in Port. So I'm guessing it was the saukville cops that responded.

Not unheard of for Port to take Saukville Calls. They assist each other regularly, and if Saukvilles cars were busy, it might have been Port that handled it.

It happened Saturday, November 3rd. My daughter walked into the bar just as the fight was starting. It was in Saukville.

It would be interesting to know if the police were unharmed, how much alcohol was served to those arrested, how much had been consumed by the "bouncers," if the "bouncers" were trained or licensed to intervene in these circumstances, if this has happened at the bar previously, it the liquor license has every been reviewed by the municipality and under what circumstances, and if it will be reviewed as a result of this incident?
