Civil War Exhibit Extended Through December
Ozaukee County Historical Society put together a free exhibit featuring old photos and historical items collected from friends and family of local veterans from the Civil War days in November, and the display will now be open for the rest of the year.

An exhibit commemorating the the 150th anniversary of the Civil War Draft Riots will remain open through the rest of the year despite being previously set to end in November.
"With such great interest we are keeping the Ozaukee Civil War Display open through December," Ozaukee County Administrator Thomas Meaux said, adding that the exception will be Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve. "We encourage all of our local school kids to come learn about Ozaukee Civil War history during their Christmas break."
Ozaukee County Historical Society Vice President Allan Buchholz was largely behind the organization of the exhibit, and said he's been working for about six months to put it together.
The exhibit that is on display on the second floor of the historical courthouse, 121 W. Main St., and open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday through Nov. 16, except for Sunday, and is free. Saturday's event starts at 2 p.m. and is also free.
