Details Emerge for Family-Friendly Event Replacing Pirate Fest

The Grafton Blues Association is hosting the new festival the first weekend of June.

A new event taking the place of Pirate Festival after the annual event hit rocky waters with city officials is just a few weeks away, and details of the weekend schedule have been announced. 

The Port Harbor Family Fest planned for June 7-8 and is described as "a two-day adventure with family activities, multi-genre music stage, roaming performers, BMX stunt performances and much, much more," according to a press release from Mayor Tom Mlada.

Kris Raymond of the Grafton Blues Association sent Patch the following itinerary for the weekend. The schedule includes approximate times:

  • A scavenger hunt is planned for 9:30 p.m. June 7 for adults, and another is scheduled to last 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8 for families.
  • June 8 is also Marina Day, and the area will open for visiting.
  • Blue Heron Artisan's Gallery is holding an arts and craft fair on June 8.
  • The Port Washington Farmers Market is also open on the morning of June 8.
  • New Port Shores will host a pirate breakfast on Saturday and Sunday.

  • 5 p.m. — Alex Wilson

  • 1 p.m. — BMX Stunt team
  • 1:30 p.m. — Bounding Main (Harmonies & Maritime fun)
  • 2:15 p.m. — Pizza eating contest
  • 2:30 p.m. — BMX Stunt team
  • 3 p.m. — Michael Ammons & the Water Street Hot Shots (jug band)
  • 4 p.m. — BMX Stunt team
  • 4:30 p.m. — Broken (Hard Rock from Illinois)
  • 5:30 p.m. — Bounding Main
  • 6:30 p.m. — Katz Sass (Texas Blues)
  • 8:30 p.m. — Tim Castle (Country)
  • Noon to 8 p.m. — Inflatables
  • 2 to 6 p.m. — Karaoke - Rotary Park
