Drinking at a Wedding Leads Teen to Drug Charges
A Saukville man, 19, gives his marijuana to a cop after his parents call police.
A 19-year-old Saukville man is facing drug charges after his parents caught him drinking a beer at a wedding and called police.
Jacob A. Legault was charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court Monday with one count of possession of THC, which is the active ingredient in marijuana, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to seven months in jail and $1,500 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
Saukville police officers were called to a home in the 100 block of South Maple Lane for a family issue. When they arrived, Legault’s father said they had been at a wedding and he saw his son drinking alcohol, which sparked an argument. Legault was sitting in a car and was ordered out by an officer, who noticed he appeared under the influence of drugs.
The officer asked if Legault had anything on him, to which he replied, “Can I just give it to you?”, then handed over a glass jar full of marijuana. Officers then searched the car and found a pipe. They also searched Legault’s bedroom where they found baggies with marijuana residue inside.
His parents said there were messages on Legault’s phone referring to the sale of marijuana, ecstasy and shrooms, according to the complaint.
Legault will make his initial appearance in court Dec. 19.
