Fall into Some New Recipes Now that Autumn is Here

Saturday marked the first official day of fall, and it's likely your kitchen is shifting, too.

Saturday officially marked the first day of fall, and the changing of seasons often signals a shift in diet as different foods are ready for the picking.

Autumn generally brings about thoughts of pumpkins, apples, squash and more, and such recipes as Apple Pecan Cobbler and Amazing Butternut Squash found on Allrecipes.com make it to the top of your grocery list needs, and Baked Cranberry Sauce is a classic found on TasteofHome.com.

Locally, stock up on your fall recipe supplies from Sentry, Pick 'n Save or Piggly Wiggly — and tell us your favorite restaurants that serve classic fall treats in the comments.

This time of year, I like a nice buffalo chicken dip:

1 rotisserie chicken (or 4 breasts, canned chicken, etc)
1.5 packages of cream cheese
1 bottle of blue cheese dressing
1 bottle of buffalo sauce (franks is fine for this)
4-8oz of shredded cheese (moz or cheddar)

Serve with "heavy" crackers or toasted bread for easiest consumption.

Use a 9 x 13 pan, and heat the oven to 425. Soften 1 and a half packages of cream cheese and spread that on the bottom. Use one rotisserie chicken, shred meat and mix with wing sauce in a separate bowl... enough to coat the chicken. Spread that over the cream cheese, and cover with a layer of blue cheese dressing (most of the whole jar or small bottle). Add a layer of shredded cheese (I use a handful of mozzarella and a handful of cheddar), then bake for 25 minutes.
