Car Wash Plan for Kwik Trip Site Tabled
Kwik Trip officials say they will continue to work on developing the property — plans for a proposed convenience store, gas station and car wash — no matter how long it takes.
Not only have plans for a proposed gas station and convenience store been rejected in Saukville, but plans for a car wash were also pulled from last week’s Village of Saukville Plan Commission agenda, reported the Ozaukee Press.
Kwik Trip has been facing a large roadblock in launching a gas station and convenience store on land the company recently acquired in Saukville after the village's Plan Commission denied a conditional use permit last month because of environmental concerns.
Plans were also submitted by Kwik Trip in 2011 for a 2,800-square-foot car wash. No action was taken on the car wash when the gas station was rejected and the item was tabled per Kwik Trip officials' request, reported the Ozaukee Press.
Hans Zietlow, director of real estate for Kwik Trip, said the company was disappointed with the village's decision but fully intends on developing a Kwik Trip on the property — no matter how long the wait.

The interchange should have a full blown Kwik-trip truck stop. With places like Camping World and Duluth Trading the area is no longer going to be a drive-by, unless the village and city keep thinking small.

The commision claims they want the land for a more "high end" hotel or motel... What a joke. We already have a Super 8! LOL
Beck's is a dump. The folks that sign these petitions and the Crooked Commision don't know what a "High End" convenience store like Kwik Trip is like. Have you ever shopped one?
