Love Syrup? Love Pancakes? Riveredge Nature Center Needs You
Center is looking for volunteers to help out at its big Maple Sugarin' Open House on March 23.
The Riveredge Nature Center in Newburg is planning a big crowd for its Maple Sugarin' Open House on March 23 — and it's looking for a few more volunteers to help out that day.
The center is in need of open house assistants on that day who will help out with children's crafts, parking, registration and more, according to a listing on the Volunteer Center of Ozaukee County website.
Volunteers can work pretty much any shift between 9:30 a.m to 3 p.m. that day. If you're interested, contact Pat Fox-Schindler, director of Volunteer Services, at (800) 287-8098 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The open house will take visitors on a journey through the sugarbush, whee they will learn how to tap a maple tree, discover how sap from trees is used in other places in the world, visit the sap sucker café, participate in arts and crafts, enjoy live music and much more.
Attendees also will see how sap is transformed into syrup and enjoy the center's famous pancakes and real maple syrup.
For non-members, admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. For member admission is $5 for adults and $4 for children.
For details on the open house, visit the Riveredge website or call (800) 287-8098.
