Ozaukee County Allowing Dogs in Shady Lane Park
The Ozaukee County Board reversed a decision that originally banned dogs from Shady Lane Park.
The Ozaukee County Board approved an ordinance that would allow dogs on leashes in Shady Lane Nature Park, reported the Ozaukee Press.
Earlier this month the Port Washington Plan Commission recommended approval for a private dog park in the city's industrial park.
Just two months ago, the county board voted to ban dogs from the park in the Town of Fredonia. Typically dogs were allowed in all county parks with the exception of Shady Lane Park.
The ban came at the recommendation of the Planning and Parks Department and Natural Resources Committee to avoid damage to the vegetation, reported the Ozaukee Press.
