Lyssa, this in my opinion is one of the best fish to eat. Low fat, lean meat, and absoulutely superb taste. Notice, it's a little thin on the belly, this type of fish needs more to eat but goes a bit hungry due to the invasive species eating all the food source. Please let other know of the lakes desperate need of invasive species removal. Thanks, Kurt

My boyfriend kayaks on Lake Michigan from South Beach often and has caught a lot of king salmon and trouts ... I don't think he has ever brought a shinook home but I could be wrong. It is DELICIOUS fresh from that place. A story about invasive species, etc., in this area of Lake Michigan is def. on the to-do list.

Thank you Lyssa for creating this post. I just hope that more people were aware of this page and can keep the momentum going with their "famous catch of the day" fishing photos. I know that I will be mucking it up to all my fisherman friends out their and to let them know of this posting.....
