Tenant Pops Up for Retail Space Under Renovation
Broadway Popcorn, a gourmet popcorn store with one location already in Sheboygan Falls, will open its doors in Port in late spring.
A gourmet popcorn shop is planned as the new tenant in the remodeled building of the former Brewmeister's Trading Post space.
Broadway Popcorn, a gourmet popcorn company with one retail location already in Sheboygan Falls, hopes to open its doors to the public on May 1, according to an Ozaukee Press article. Though the shop specializes in mostly popped corn, it will also carry some unpopped popcorn, including products from nearby Fireworks Popcorn.
"Broadway Popcorn Company specializes in fresh-popped popcorn in a wide variety of sport and beautifully designed tins and packaging," according to the company's website. "Our popcorn is always popped and packed fresh daily, and made with the highest quality ingredients."
Building owner Ross Leinweber said the awning for the new business went up earlier this week as complete renovations of its interior continue.
Workers are in the process of creating two apartment spaces with very different appeals that will offer a "a very unique space for the downtown," Leinweber said. "We've done a lot of work and pretty much completely gutted the spaces to make them modern."
One apartment features an open concept loft layout that would work well for a couple with an infant or a single entreprenuer in need of living and work space, and anyone in between, Leinweber said. The second apartment is a more traditional 2-bedroom space.
"I think those will be attractive places for people to live in," he said. "They're very big apartments compared to a lot of the things that are available downtown."
Each unit will feature new mechanicals, including air conditioning and a heating system, as well as new hardwood floors.
