Trial Set in Port High Teen Sex Assault Case
Police say the suspect, 17, sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl he was dating in August.
A jury trial has been set for the 17-year-old Saukville boy accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl inside his home in August.
Douglas M. Yanko appeared in Ozaukee County Courts for a status conference on Tuesday, during which a trial date was set for 8:30 a.m. April 10. Yanko had plead not guilty to the charge of repeated sexual assault of a child on Dec. 21. He faces up to 25 years in prison and $100,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
On Nov. 9, Saukville police officers met with the victim who said she was dating Yanko in August when on one occasion she was in his home in the 200 block of South Colonial Parkway and he got on top of her and began to touch her breast. He asked to have sex, but she said no, so Yanko pulled down her pants and rubbed his genitals on hers until his mother called him upstairs for something.
Later that day a similar incident took place in Yanko’s bedroom where she again refused to have sex with him, but he did the same thing, the complaint said.
Yanko is set to appear in court for another status hearing before the trial at 1:15 p.m. March 5.
