UPDATED: Holiday Fireworks Moved to New Year's Eve

The National Weather Service is calling for rain on Saturday, something that may cause some planned events to change.

Updated 1:01 p.m. Saturday: The Christmas in the Corner fireworks, scheduled for after tonight's parade, have been postponed to New Year's Eve due to the inclement weather.

Outdoor movies planned for the Beanies parking lot have been moved to the lower level of the Holiday Inn. Look for Port Washington-Saukville Patch at this event.

All other events are still on at this time.

With a 90 percent chance of rain forecast for the Port Washington area on Saturday, Christmas on the Corner organizers have set in place a few "plan b" arrangements.

While Sara Grover, executive director for Port Washington Main Street, said the group remains optimistic that the weather will hold out, it's still preparing for the possible downpour.

Events possibly affected by the weather include the fireworks and nighttime parade. The decision to cancel these events planned to start at 6 p.m. Saturday won't come until the hour or two before, as the group is "playing it by ear," Grover said.

If canceled, it will be announced on Main Street's website and Facebook page. Also check Patch for event updates as they are made available.

Live reindeer from Reindeer Games for pictures and petting — located on on Franklin and Main streets — will be outside no matter if it rains, Grover said.

Patch will be at the Christmas on the Corner event on Saturday, and is sponsoring the outdoor movies. Learn more about the itinerary for the day here.
