It's bound to warm up outside sometime. And when it does, kids — and likely parents, too! — will be more than ready to hit up the outdoors, play under the sun, fly on the swings, build sand castles, slip down the slide ... you get the point. While there are a lot of parks in Port Washington and Saukville, and Ozaukee County for that matter, there are probably specific parks that draw you in for different reasons. So, please dish. What are your favorite parks? Where do the kids most like to go when looking for a playground? A hike through the woods? A little water fun? What about fun activities to play outside, but in your own yard?

Now that's been (kind of) warm out, my boyfriend and I found the Sauk Creek Nature Preserve — really cool trails for quick walks with kids! (http://treasuresofoz.org/treasures/preserves/sauk-creek-nature-preserve)

My husband and I explored through there last fall one day when we were bored with our usual training run. It is so great back there, I need to find an adventurous couple to take there and photograph. There are little steps and bridges hidden throughout.

Now that our son is walking (well, practically running!) we love taking him to Possibilities Playground. I love that there is no mulch or sand (unless in the sandbox) and he can run and climb on age appropriate stuff. There is also a great little park right around the corner from us, so we will walk over there in the summer.

What about when parks are busy, how do you keep an eye on your little guy and make sure he's playing nice? Ever notice this as a problem at possibilities playground? I'm guessing that place is really popular!

Yes, it can get really busy so I stay close, he is still pretty little. I problem I have noticed in the past is that parents use the park (any park really) as a babysitter and they tend to sit outside the play area with their phones. Which is fine when your child is old enough but there have been times when I was there and I have had to help stranded little ones who had explored too far and their parents had no idea.
I really want to check out the Newburg Nature Center, was age is that good for?

I havent been to the nature center, but I'd imagine nature/animals/etc. can make kids of walking age smile! What about the water park in Port?

Pirates Cove, I think it is called. We went there a few times last summer and it is great. Not too crowded, zero depth area, slides and diving boards. It is really reasonably priced too. Ahhh, summer!

Right, now I am looking forward to sunshine!! And swimming! Is there an age group that its geared toward, or is it good for toddlers to teens the same?

I would say baby-to the golden years. The pool is huge, there is plenty of room for everyone. There is a large grassy area for sunbathers too.
