Port Washington Martial Arts Students Win Big at Karate and Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Seven students from Seamless Progression Academy of Martial Arts in Port Washington Wisconsin traveled to Chicago Illinois to compete in the AKA Grand Nationals. The Grand Nationals is the longest continually run martial arts event in the country and has a long tradition of being open to competitors form any school or style.

This year the AKA Grand Nationals expanded to offer Jiu-Jitsu in addition to their sport Karate events. These divisions, titled the Chicago Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship were run with a mix of local and international rules. Students from a dozen Jiu-Jitsu schools joined the hundreds of other martial arts schools from around the country for this three day event.

Students from our dojo competed in both the Karate and Jiu-jitsu divisions doing very well for their first school outing - especially when you consider that the dojo has been open for only 6 months.

Overall the seven competitors received: Six – 1st Place Trophies, Two – 2nd Place Trophies, One – 3rd Place Trophy, and Five – Finalist Plaques
