Save the lighthouse

I have taken my boat past this lighthouse many times.  There are how many "Great Lakes" in the United States, - yes 5! It is unclear why saving a national landmark is even a question? This is an investment at the Federal level.  We are not asking for a "hand out", just a responsible decision.  It is not Port Washington's lake, it is a Great Lake of the United States of
America, one of the largest clean water lakes we have as a country.

A great starting point for being informed and getting involved is "Save the Port Lighthouse" on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/groups/SaveThePortLighthouse/

I have wrote Congressman Tom Petri to find out what his is doing to help as an elected official. He has a local town hall meeting coming up - this should be a topic (Port lighthouse).

Dan that's fantastic. Did he share any details as to when and where?

Tom will be in local Town hall meetings; Mequon 1/18 @ 2:30 Saukville 1/21 @ 3:30 These are not yet published times. and I did give the office kind notice that the Port Lighthouse crumbling walls need State and/or Federal funds to reconcile, this is more than a city issue. I respect Tom's office and his work and believe he will take action. Spoke with the his office via phone today and waiting for additional comment - and they know this will be an issue at their "town hall" meetings in a few weeks. Jim, how are you pushing this issue?
