4 Mile Run Part of Coal Dock Celebration

A day-long event celebrating the Coal Dock kicks off with what officials hope will be an annual event.

A 4-mile run/walk event follows a course along the lakefront as part of a day-long event celebrating the opening of Coal Dock Park.

Registration for the event is at 9 a.m. Sept. 28, with the run/walk starting at 10 a.m., according to a flier from Port Washington officials (attached). Register early for the run/walk by mailing in a check with the attached form filled out.

The run walk isn't the whole celebration: aΒ park dedication will be held at 11:15 a.m., and music, live music and activities will be offered from noon to 7 p.m., with a paper lantern launching event at 7:30 p.m.

The park will again host an open house with family activities from noon to 7 p.m. Sept 29.

The lakefront park is located on the former We Energies coal docks, and opened up late this summer.Β
