Benefit for Matt Hopkins is Saturday at Railroad Station
Hopkins, 25, was paralyzed in a dirt bike accident last May.
A crowd is expected Saturday at Railroad Station as people from as far away as Florida come together to support Matt Hopkins, a 25-year-old Grafton man who was paralyzed following a dirt bike accident last May.
A benefit will be held from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. for Hopkins, who people call a good guy who has had some bad luck.
Hopkins was riding his dirt bike last May when a mechanical failure caused an accident. Hopkins sustained injuries to his spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed from the neck down. Following the accident he was airlifted to Froedert Memorial Hospital in Milwaukee and the spent three months in a spinal facility in Atlanta.

Hopkins, whose mother and uncle own Port Yamaha and who has worked at the store, has since moved home, requiring special care and medical equipment. He also has a 4-year-old daughter.
The benefit features live and silent auctions, a DJ, raffles, food and beverages. There will also be special appearance by John Gillespie of Waters and Woods. Items to bid on include a pit bike, tickets for the Packers vs. Cardinals game, signed Packers and motocross gear and memorabilia, in addition to other items.
