Friday the 13th: Are you Superstitious?
The 13th just happens to fall on a Friday in December, too. Superstitions abound!
Friday marks the first of two that fall on the 13th during 2013 — the next on being in December.
Superstitious have folk put off decisions and "laid low" since the worry surrounding the date combination arose in the 19th century, according to an article on the International Business Times.
Not all superstitions mean bad luck — consider "crossing your fingers," or the wedding luck of having, "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue," the article points out.
