Goose Causing Power Outage An Interesting Tidbit from 2012

The No. 9 story goes way back to January, when a goose caused a power outage in Port Washington.

Early speculation was that a duck or other animal may have been to blame for the outage, but We Energies spokesperson Brian Manthey was eventually able to confirm the actual culprit: a goose.

"Apparently the goose may have survived, it may have actually just hit the wire," he said. "These geese are so big that … they knock it down on their own."
