New Wind Folk School Connects All Backgrounds for Restorative Experience

A Port Washington group is bringing a weekend-long experience for people of all backgrounds.

A Port Washington group is bringing a weekend-long experience for people of all backgrounds that promises "environmental stewardship, spiritual awakening, and restoration of personal balance."

The New Wind Folk School will be held Sept. 27-29, according to a press release from the group, and registration is available now.

Artists, scientists, public officials, photographers, historians, clergy, poets, educators, fishermen, songwriters, dancers, prophets, environmentalists, journalists, water play enthusiasts will gather on the shores of Lake Michigan around the theme "WATER (connects everything with everything) LISTEN TO THE STORY," Sept. 27-29.

The New Wind Folk School's weekend agenda aims:  
  1. To tell the story of water as it influences human balance, health and relationship.
  2. To experience water's beauty, refreshment, and inspiration.
  3. To learn to LISTEN to the stories of others with understanding and empathy as they share the impact of “water” in their personal lives and the life of their community's survival.
  4. To motivate and educate people to actively protect and preserve WATER as the essential source of life on the planet.
