Patty Smyth & Scandal to Headline Fish Day
Organizers of the July festival announce the music lineup for the event.
Port Washington Fish Day organizers have enlisted Patty Smyth & Scandal to liven up the main stage as the headliner of the festival on July 16.
The festival, widely known as the world's largest one-day outdoor fish fry, features six different stages, including the Blues Stage, Family Stage, Country Stage, Classic Rock Bandshell and the Main Stage.
Patty Smyth & Scandal came about in 1982 with the hit single, “Goodbye to You,” a song that soon became a No. 1 MTV video, according to the group's website. The group’s first full-length album, The Warrior, released in 1984. It eventually hit the top 20 on the sales chart, and, with more than a million in sales, eventually earned RIAA-certified platinum status.

"The Warrior," has hit mainstream recently, being featured in the video game Grand Theft Auto, and in Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks the '80s, according to the group's website. The song has also been used in the animated Fox series Family Guy.
The first Fish Day event was held August 21, 1965, making this year the the 46th annual event. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in downtown Port Washington.
