Polar Bear Dip: See Our Video, Post Yours on Patch

Jan. 1, 2013 was one of the coldest days of the winter so far, but it did not deter dozens from stepping into frigid Lake Michigan. Share your photos and videos on this article.

Bright sunshine on New Year's Day didn't do much for the air temperature, which hovered around 15 degrees for the 2013 Port Washington Polar Bear Dip.

Hundreds of onlookers ringed the beach east of New Port Shores, and dozens of hardy individuals ran, danced, stepped and dove into the ice-cold Lake Michigan water to celebrate the new year.
