Rock the Harbor Offers Music, Food and Fun for Harley's 110th

Rock the Harbor rocks the last weekend of summer with a night of great music, food, fun and more.

Port Washington and Harley-Davidson fans will rock the shores of Lake Michigan for Rock the Harbor on Aug. 30.

Amy Gannon, one of the event organizers, said there will be something for everyone at the party, including a Q&A with SAMCRO radio andΒ a Sons of Anarchy cast member, a performance by country singer Darryl Worley and a book signing with Jean Davidson, granddaughter of a Harley-Davidson founder.

"There's going to be something for everyone," she said. "We're still working on finalizing a couple of details that we think visitors will find very cool."

Rock the Harbor is part of the region-wide celebration of Harley-Davidson's 110th anniversary.

As of Aug. 14, organizers of the event needed to raise $30,000, according to a story in The Ozaukee Press.

Rock the Harbor is being funded entirely by donations and VIP ticket sales to some of the live events like the Worley concert and the going has been a little rough, Gannon acknowledged.

"We are still fundraising, but Rock the Harbor will take place no matter what," she said.

Other highlights of the event include the Stars & Stripes Honor Flight booth, the 9/11 Memorial Float and the Give Back program, where local businesses purchased VIP tickets for Worley's concert, for example, and then donated them to service personnel.
