Sink or Float? Cardboard Boats Sail in Port's Harbor

Patch takes fastest course time, with "Soggy Bottom" coming in as a close second during Port Washington's first Cardboard Boat Regatta.

Event organizers of the first Cardboard Boat Regatta say the success of this year's race points to a likely larger pool of participants come next year.

Hundreds of people showed up in the crowd, filling the area; the event was added this year as part of the . The festival is full of a number of activities β€” check out this photo gallery to see what all took place.

The race took place on Sunday, with eleven boats participating.

A panel of volunteer judges timed the race, and helped to determine winners of a variety of categories. donated trophies and medals for the awards.
