Week Ahead: New Teachers to Get Warm Welcome at School Board Meeting

First school board meeting since beginning of school year is this week, as well as a number of programs and classes for people of all ages.

School Board regular meeting Monday night
The will hold its first regular meeting since the start of the school year at 7:15 p.m. Monday night at the district office. Board meetings normally start at 7 p.m. the first Monday of every month; this time, it is starting a little later to accomodate a new-staff get-together before the meeting.

Manage your money in a rocky economy
Local Stockbroker Bob Chernow is hosting a talk about investing and personal finances, especially in an uncertain time, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the W.J. Niederkorn Library.

W.J. Niederkorn is hosting a , offering attendees 16 and older the chance to put their skills to the test and see what can be created with wire. The class is at 10 a.m. Saturday.
