St. Patrick's Day Celebration

St. Patrick's Day Celebration in Port Washington itinerary:

  • 5am-12pm: Irish Breakfast at , 200 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. 262-268-1133
  • 6am-12pm: Irish Breakfast at , 3315 County Road I Saukville. 262-284-9808
  • Lunch and pre-Parade activities: To be announced.
  • 4pm: Art Contest Drawing of Irish Landscape at Lueptow Building aka "Shoppe's of Port Washington." Paint, sketch, draw, photograph ... create an Irish Landscape!! Everyone welcome to participate, whether a resident of Port or Saukville or not. No age limit or size limit, but art must be able to be hung on the wall. Art Work to be available for viewing March 11 through March 20. Contest Entry Fee: $ 20.00. Contest prizes: 1st Place: $ 300.00;  2nd Place: $ 200.00; 3rd Place; $ 100.00 Artists wishing to enter must show up at the Shoppe's of Port Washington between 10am and 5pm on either March 10 or March 11. Must be present March 17 to Win! Winners entitled to a personal showing of their Art Work at a Scheduled Date in 2011.
  • 5pm: Line up of parade participants in public parking lot on Wisconsin Avenue, south of Grand Avenue.
  • 5:30pm: Parade kicks off, traveling east on Grand Avenue, north on Franklin to Pier Street, east on Pier to Lake Street. Thirteen-year-old bag piper to lead the crowd to the post party at The Patio, 601 N. Wisconsin Ave., Port Washington.
  • 6:30pm: The Rev. Tom of St. Mary's Church to bless the crowd; Bag piper will play during the cocktail hour  at 7pm. Irish wild game dinner Served 7:30-11pm, with live music by Vinyl Groove. Silent auction and live auction will be available throughout post party.

Port Washington Transport Taxi service will also be offering free shuttles from the marina to The Patio from 6:30 to 10pm, and members of the Trinity Irish Dance Acamedy will be at the event for a performance. All proceeds from the event benefit the area's Character Counts initiative.
