Cedarburg High Senior Wins 2013 Berry Big Run Design Contest

Ali O'Rourke, a senior at Cedarburg, created this year's winning selection as part of the high school's graphics design class.

Grafton, Wis. (May 6, 2013) – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ozaukee County partnered with the Cedarburg High School Art Department to once again create the winning design for this year’s Berry Big Run for the Kids event. Ali O’Rourke, a senior at Cedarburg, created this year’s winning selection as part of the high school’s graphics design class. Deb Mortl, Art Department chair and instructor for the class, stated, “The competition for this year’s contest was extremely close, and featured many creative entries – this project allows our students to gain some real-world experience by creating a design for marketing and promoting this year’s event.”

The 2013 Berry Big Run for the Kids, presented by the Ozaukee County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, kicks off this year’s Strawberry Festival the

children facing adversity caring mentors who provide individual guidance and
support. “We appreciate the support from Deb and her class in helping to create
this year’s winning design,” said executive director for Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Ozaukee County, Steve Dykema. “The design contest is a perfect way to involve high school students with our event.” Please visit the Big Brothers Big
Sisters website, at www.bbbsoz.org, for additional details and online registration for this year’s Berry Big Run.
