Officials found the inmate hanging in her cell at Ozaukee County Jail on Sunday.

An Ozaukee County Jail inmate is in critical condition after an apparent suicide attempt Sunday night.

Officials found the woman hanging in her single occupancy cell at 10:47 p.m. Sunday, according to a press release from the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office. Deputies and Port Washington Rescue and Paramedics were able to use life saving techniques to resuscitate the inmate.

The inmate was being held on a $1,000 bondable misdemeanor disorderly, the release said. She remains in a local hospital in critical condition.

Just one week earlier, a 41-year-old inmate was found dead in her cell; officials believe she committed suicide.

The inmate's name was not released, and the investigation is ongoing.
