Scott Walker: Are Private Sector Unions Still Your “Partner in Economic Development?”

Scott Walker and the opportunity to back up his statements about private sector unions.

"'From our standpoint, it's never going to get to me,' Walker said of right-to-work legislation in an interview with the Journal Sentinel on April 27. 'Private sector unions are my partner in economic development.'"

That’s from the May 10, 2012 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Walker also told the Journal Sentinel for a December 12, 2012 article that “it would hurt job growth in the state to have another round of bitter debate like the one that accompanied his mea sure in March 2011 to repeal most collective bargaining for most public workers, leading to the unsuccessful effort to recall him this year.”

Interesting words from a guy who introduced ALEC Right to Work legislation back in 1993. So we may certainly expect that the new legislation sponsored by state Republicans Paul Farrow and Ed Brooks (Senate Bill 26 and Assembly Bill 15) will be vetoed if/when it reaches Walker’s desk? Or shall we cynically assume that this will be signed because the word “union” doesn’t specifically appear, and therefore it literally isn’t about unions?

Perhaps the real question surrounds Walker's level of eagerness for a new round of protests around the State Capitol this spring. If this legislation gets to Walker’s desk and it's signed and protests occur, one has to wonder if every private union employee in the state is a Democrat and/or apathetic.

Guess we'll find out. Should be interesting.

Walker and WI republicans are a crappy example for our children! @gjzielinski BREAKING-7th Circuit panel rules @wisgop committed "fraud, misrepresentation or misconduct" in illegal redistricting case. http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/federal-panel-opens-gop-computers-in-wisconsin-redistricting-case-mv8u03q-193105171.html Madison - A federal court gave groups suing the state broad access Monday to three computers used by the Legislature to develop Republican friendly voting maps. The Legislature "must make these three computers available in their entirety immediately" to the groups suing the state, the three judges wrote. "The computers are extremely likely to contain relevant and responsive materials that should have been disclosed during pretrial discovery. Moreover, Plaintiffs have established that substantial numbers of documents were not disclosed, which satisfies the court that some form of 'fraud, misrepresentation, or misconduct' likely occurred," the unanimous opinion said. The ruling provided the latest setback for Republican lawmakers, who have consistently resisted releasing documents in the case. It will give the plaintiffs a chance to determine whether legislators and their attorneys improperly withheld additional documents before the case went to trial.

"Walker and WI republicans are a crappy example for our children!" Good thing we have Barry and Hillary showing them how to really lie. Fast and Furious and the Libya attack were excellent examples for the kids. How many Americans have died from redistricting?

Boy, I wonder if there have been any developments involving that John Doe and Scott Walker. After all, the Patch has never hesitated to report on even the slightest hint of negative news regarding the John Doe. I guess there must be nothing to report.
