'Like' Us on Facebook? Great, but in Person is Nice, Too

A social media presence is great for businesses and individuals, but actually stopping by to buy while help keep the businesses alive.

More and more businesses can be found on Facebook.

Having a Facebook page allows the businesses to share new products, events and special offers and allows their customers and fans another way to interact with the business. This is great for both the business and the customer.

However, liking them on Facebook is not as significant as liking them in person — by buying some items at their place of business. Without customers liking them by spending money with them, they won’t be on Facebook or in business long.

A quick tour of my own “likes” on Facebook finds several businesses located in Port Washington, including Sentry, The Pasta Shoppe, Dockside Deli, Beanies, Java Dock, The Chocolate Chisel, and Tellos (looks like I enjoy food) among others. I always look forward to hearing about new offerings or special deals of the day. Whenever I can, I think of these places first to frequent and “like” them in person.

To find a more complete listing of businesses in downtown Port take a look at Port Washington Main Street on Facebook. Like them on Facebook, but more importantly, like them in person.
