Allen Edmonds Shoes Could Be Sold

A published report indicates a sale is being explored, but does not say what if anything could happen to the worldwide headquarters here.

Allen Edmonds Shoes could be up for sale, according to a Reuters report.

The Port Washington-based shoemaker is owned by a private equity firm, Goldner Hawn Johnson Morrison, which bought it in 2006.

The report does not indicate what might happen to the company after a sale, but it’s been healthy at its world headquarters. The company has added about 200 employees here in the last two years, and is also expanding its warehouse space in Port Washington.
