Patch Team's Newest Member Knows the Area Well

Nan Fox, Patch's Advertising Manager in Milwaukee, grew up in Greendale and lives in Muskego, where you find her cheering on her boys in sports.

She’s lived in Atlanta, she’s lived in Chicago, but Milwaukee is home to Nan Fox, the newest Patch team member in southeast Wisconsin.

Fox is the Advertising Manager for Patch’s 15 hyperlocal websites around Milwaukee. She’ll work with local business owners and managers to examine their online presence and put their message in front of the people they want to reach.

“I love the concept of Patch,” Fox said. “I think the sites are really helpful for the communities. People get so dialed in to what’s going on so far away, thanks to the Internet, we lose touch with what’s around us. Patch helps you put your hands easily on what’s going on in your neighborhood.”

A graduate of Greendale High School and UW-Whitewater, she lives in Muskego with her husband and three boys. The oldest is 21 and attends Ohio State University; the others are 16 and 15 and active in sports.

“Most of my hobbies revolve around cheering them on in sports,” she said. “I like to go to the gym myself once in a while.”

She's worked for ad agencies and other sales organizations in Chicago, Atlanta and Milwaukee, including Journal Communiciations. Fox said she came back to Milwaukee because it was so close to the rest of her family.

Welcome! And Good Luck! One aspect I would like to see expanded is coverage of truly local businesses. The Target's and Best Buy's of the world do well all by themselves. I've often heard of some corner shop going out of business when I never knew they were *IN* business. Perhaps you can seek them out for an interview and ad. Another feature, sort of in place already, is product oriented lists. Every place with a Sunday buffet. A list of furnace installers in the Brookfield area. Who can plow snow? These are often the "one guy working out of his truck" places and are now mainly served by word of mouth ads. Think Craig's list...
