Special Day Honors Angel Tello for Library Donations

The W.J. Niederkorn Library Board is honoring Angel Tello, owner of Tellos Grill & Cafe, for his charitable contributions to the organization with a special day of his own.

The W.J. Niederkorn Library Board is honoring Angel Tello, owner of Tellos Grill & Cafe, for his charitable contributions to the organization with a special day of his own.

Friday, April 26, will be recognized as Angel Tello Day; it is also the next  After Hours Movies at the library — an event that is largely the reason for Tello's award.

Tello started bringing snacks to the movie event that takes place on select Fridays citing memories of tough times as inspiration for his decision to provide free food. He's been bring food from his restaurant for about a year.

"We've done three movies so far, (and) he's brought a different spread every time," said Annie Bahringer, Adult Services coordinator for the library, told Patch in October. "We even had a lady call in the afternoon, (and ask) 'Will you have food? Because otherwise we'll get a bite to eat before we come.' He's been absolutely awesome. And we've had great feedback. ... We cannot thank Tellos enough!"
