ZuZu Pedals Gears Up for Bike Rentals, Classes

A new bike shop will open its doors in downtown Port Washington soon, offering rentals, classes and accessories for all cycling skill sets.

A new business is rolling into Port Washington this summer, ready to give cycling enthusiasts and newcomers alike an outlet for all-things-bike.

ZuZu Pedals, 228 N. Franklin St., is set to open its doors in the next three weeks and will offer single-speed bike rentals, cycling accessories and apparel, as well as spinning and yoga classes.

Owner Tammy Oreskovic believes that this sort of business is exactly what Port Washington needs.  An avid cyclist, Oreskovic noticed a level of interest in the sport in the area.

"Every time I’m in Port Washington, I’m amazed at the number of bikes," she said.

This observation got Oreskovic thinking, and since January she has been working with the Port Washington Main Street Program on this venture.

She hopes to target cyclists of all skill levels at ZuZu Pedals. Beginners can rent single-speed bikes from the business, and specialty apparel and accessories will be for sale to keep serious bikers interested, she said.

Oreskovic will also offer yoga and spinning classes in the evening.

“It’s good off-season training,” she said, of the exercises.

Of the coming addition to the downtown community, Port Washington Main Street Executive Director Sara Grover said she’s excited to see a niche business like ZuZu Pedals coming in.

Recognizing Oreskovic’s marketing and business experience as owner of Arnold’s Environmental Services in Saukville, Grover said she’s confident that Oreskovic will really carry her business plan through, she said.

Oreskovic is looking forward to becoming a part of the Main Street community.

"Port Washington seems like it’s ready for something new," she said.
