Development, North Beach Top Wish List for Port and Saukville Improvements

Earlier this month we asked what you'd like to see improved in Port Washington and Saukville and the answers that came in the comments and on Facebook include larger business and destination establishments and easier access to the beach.

Earlier in January we asked Patch users what they would like to see improve in Port Washington and Saukville in 2013.

Some of the suggestions that came through include more destination establishments, larger stores and restaurants, development off of exit 100 by Sentry and easier access to North Beach.

Here's what people had to say on Facebook and in Patch comments:

Greg Huegerich: Both cities could benefit from more "destination" establishments. Places that will lure visitors from outside the area. Both cities also need to be more accepting of new investors and less "protective" of existing businesses.

Ike: It would be nice to see either city open up to let in more business that aren't normally in this area. Would be nice not to have to drive 20 to 30 miles plus to go to a large mall or stores like Barnes and noble, a nice diner, something other than a McDonald's in the area for fast food maybe also.

Jennifer Rigg-Huettl: How about development off of exit 100 by Sentry and that area or coming into town on the 32 as well.

Roseann St. Aubin: I would improve access to North Beach in Port Washington.
