Port Groups Offer A New Way to Click Around Town

Port Chamber, Tourism and Main Street programs are hosting a party to celebrate the launch of their new, combined website.

Three area tourism and business groups are set to celebrate their clickability with a new combined website that launched to promote all things Port Washington.

Port Washington Tourism, Port Washington Main Street and the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce partnered in this "first of its kind" joint website (www.visitportwashington.com), which launched May 4, according to a press release. The website offers information for tourists, residents, business owners and potential business owners, with comprehensive listings of events and festivals in the area, as well as Chamber of Commerce and Main Street business meetings and activities.

The three groups are so excited by the new platform they are hosting a launch party from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at , according to the groups' press release. The owners of the restaurant and bar are heating up the outdoor patio for the first time this season in honor of the occasion.

There will be appetizers, music by Vinyl Groove, an opportunity to chat with the web project manager as well as a big screen showcasing the new website midway through the event. The outdoor patio will also have a staffed bar.

Attendees to the event will be able to try out the new website, which also features an "Eat, Shop, Play" tab to help visitors and residents find things to do, and also a "Lodging" tab to help people find a place to stay, the release said. The Chamber of Commerce and Main Street pages will list their members, as well as programs, benefits, committees, volunteer and donation opportunities.
