Port Washington Police Report: Man Playing With Fireworks Lights Grass on Fire

A roundup of the latest activity from the police blotter.

Police responded to an area near Sweetwater and Aster streets at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, where a 37-year-old Port Washington man was playing with fireworks.

The man set off a group of fireworks, which landed in the grassy area and caused the lawn to start on fire.

Fire was put out before the fire department’s arrival. The man was issued a citation for discharge of fireworks.

  • Looking for a party? Police visited at 7:55 p.m. Saturday after a report that a 14-year-old Port Washington boy had stole a bottle of vodka from the store. The boy was with a 15-year-old Port Washington girl as well as a 15-year-old Saukville girl. All three lied to the officers about the stolen bottle. Citations were issued for theft and obstructing an officer.
  • A drunk potty mouth? Never! Police noticed a 27-year-old Brown Deer woman in the 200 block of North Franklin Street with an open intoxicant at 1:04 a.m. Friday. Officers approached the woman to issue a citation for drinking and possessing alcohol in public. The woman became beligerent with the officers, continuosly using profane language. She was also issued a citation for disorderly conduct.
