Food Pack

Trinity looking for a few "food" Packers

It doesn’t take much to feed a child in El Salvador. In fact, just fifteen cents and about five minutes of time mixing together rice, soy, vegetables, vitamins, and minerals will provide the right nutrition to help a child living in El Salvador grow and thrive. The “Food Pack” returns to Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedarburg on Saturday, September 28 and you are invited to help pack an estimated 27,000 meals.

Currently, packers are needed for all shifts: 9-10:30 am, 10:30 am -noon, and noon -1:30 pm, and 1:30-3 pm. Each shift requires 32 people – 8 people working together at one of the four assembly lines. No experience necessary.

“Last year, we had over 100 people join us,” said Jill Klitz, Food Pack organizer. “Work teams from companies, friends, students from area schools…they all joined “the Pack”.

To learn more or sign-up for a shift or two, call Trinity at 377-0610. Trinity is located at N60 W6047 Columbia Road, Cedarburg.

In addition to volunteer packers, donations in any amount are welcome to cover the cost of food and shipping ($32/box). Please make your check payable to Trinity (put “Food Pack” in the memo line) and mail it or drop it off at Trinity. Supplemental funding is also provided by the Ozaukee County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
