Fourth Annual Forever Families Super Saturday Walk/Run/Auction/Bake Sale to Raise Funds for Adoption and Orphan care

The Fourth Annual Forever Families Super Saturday run/walk, silent auction and bake sale to benefit adoption and orphan care will be held on Saturday, September 21st at Friedens Church in Port Washington.

A Smart TV, Kindle Fire HD, Orlando vacation rental, travel certificate, Wisconsin north woods and lake getaways, gift certificates, and many other items will be featured in the giant silent auction portion of the event.

Forever Families is a ministry of Friedens Church that supports adoption, orphan care and foster parenting.  Forever Families has three primary purposes:



  • Raise awareness of the plight of the147 million orphans worldwide
  • Educate, encourage and empower families who are considering adoption and/or foster care
  • Provide funding for local families in their adoption processes, and orphan care around the world
Since its founding in 2010, Forever Families has raised over $34,000.  100% of the proceeds from Forever Families go to support adoption and orphan care.  Forever Families has been able to give financial grants to many local families to help fund their adoption processes, and has also sent financial support to orphanages in India, Ethiopia, Romania, China, Honduras, and Haiti.

Super Saturday will include a 5K run and 5K and 2K walk events. Strollers are welcome.  The deadline to pre-register for the race is September 15. Registrations will also be accepted the day of the race.

Same-day registration for the 5K and 2K events is from 8 to 8:40 a.m., with the race beginning at 9 a.m. at Friedens Church, 454 N. Milwaukee St., Port Washington. The silent auction and bake sale is from 9 a.m. to noon inside the church. Pre-registration for the race is $25 if submitted before September 15; $30 on day of the race; $50 maximum per family. Registration fee includes T-shirt to the first 150 registrants, maximum of three per family. Additional T-shirts are $15.

In addition to the digital electronics and travel items, the giant silent auction includes items donated by area businesses and individuals such as gift certificates for restaurants, entertainment, salon products, and shopping; portrait session, Milwaukee Bucks and Admirals tickets; Holiday Folk Fair and Milwaukee Museum tickets; Green Bay Packers football and grill; cookware; Pampered Chef items; babysitting services; memberships to YMCAs, Anytime Fitness and personal trainer; and much more.
