Grand Re-Opening Celebration at St. Vincent de Paul-Ozaukee Chapter

A celebration of the
newly renovated St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store in Ozaukee County
will be held Friday, Dec. 13 and Saturday, Dec. 14 in Port
Washington. The two-day grand re-opening event will feature a variety
of activities to mark the opening of its approximately
21,000-square-feet of total space, making it one of the largest St.
Vincent de Paul stores in Wisconsin. β€œWe are excited to show off
our newly renovated store that will allow us to better serve the
community in Ozaukee County,” said Chuck Schmidt, Ozaukee County
Council President.

City and county
officials, SVDP organizers and the public are invited to attend a
ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 in front of
the store. Free gifts will be given to the first 50 children who come
to the store, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and
Saturday. The newly remodeled space, formerly known as the annex,
features a Christmas Shoppe and will include additional merchandise
for sale throughout the year. Free cookies, popcorn, apple cider and
coffee will be available for shoppers throughout the event. A drawing
will be held both days for attendees to enter for a chance to win
$50, $25 and $10 gift certificates to the store. Children can also
meet and have their picture taken with Santa Claus from 11 a.m. to 4
p.m. on Saturday.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a volunteer
lay organization whose members visit the less fortunate people of
Ozaukee County in their homes to provide support and financial
assistance such as rent and energy vouchers to families in need. The
St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store collects and also provides a
low-cost resource for gently used and new household goods, clothing,
appliances, and furniture for the people of Ozaukee County.
Additionally, the profits from the store are used to provide no-cost
merchandise vouchers and financial assistance to our needy neighbors.
Nearly all the proceeds generated through the efforts at the store
in Port Washington stay here in Ozaukee County. All donations are
greatly appreciated in our effort to provide assistance to others.
