Developing Good Homework and Study Habits in Your Kids

It's back to school time for our kids, and time for all us parents to brush up on how we can best help our children develop good homework and study habits.

It's back to school time for our kids, and time for all us parents to brush up on how we can best help our children develop good homework and study habits. Here are a few tips to keep you and your school-aged kids focused on their best learning efforts towards a GREAT year!

  • Create an environment that is favorable for doing homework. Youngsters need a permanent work space in the house that offers privacy.
  • Set aside ample time for homework.
  • Make a rule saying the TV stays off during homework time.
  • Supervise computer and internet use.
  • Be available to answer questions, but never do a child's homework.
  • To help ease fatigue while studying. Stretch, and take a break periodically.
  • If your child is struggling with a particular subject, and you aren't able to help her yourself, a tutor can be a good solution. Talk it over with your child's teacher first.
