Ireland takeover in Wisconsin this past August — Great Local Irish Bands

Port Washington Maritime Heritage Festival Aug 17-19, it was a beautiful day full of wonderful food and music. Whiskey of the Damned performed, a local Irish/American Rock band. They always put on a great show and have a new album out “Moonshiners and Shiplifters”. The band is comprised of 5 members put together by lead singer and Ireland native Eoin McCarthy, son of Finbar MacCarthy (also a great musician and performer).

After the show, I offered the band a shot of Jameson when they were done picking up. While waiting for Whiskey, Finbar caught me in the pub and was very happy to know that I am an Irish girl and my name is Kate. I think he had a crush because he ended up singing to me. I got a hug and a kiss on the cheek, and then — like the wind — Finbar disappeared.

Irish Fest, Aug 16-19 at the Summerfest grounds, crowds of people enjoyed Irish dance, music, and filled their bellies with great food. Whiskey of the Damned performed. I have to say, that even though I saw them two days in a row, it definitely isn’t the same show every time and the energy level was intense at Summerfest.

The seats got really full, I was glad I got there early. Finbar played later that day, but unfortunately I was unable to stay for his show. But, I did get a wave from him at the end of Whiskey’s show. If you get the chance I recommend seeing either of them, they put on great shows, and if you get the chance everyone loves Jameson Irish Whiskey, so buy them one!
