Lakeshore Chinooks to Make Bobblehead History. First-Ever Bruce Froemming Bobblehead to be Issued. Chinooks release 2013 promotional schedule.

Mequon, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks will make bobblehead history in the 2013 season. The team will host a bobblehead giveaway featuring legendary umpire Bruce Froemming on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, presented by Mequon Pizza Company.

Froemming, the longest tenured umpire in major league history (37 full seasons), officiated in 5,163 games including 111 in the postseason.  Froemming, a Milwaukee-area native, will be in attendance as the Chinooks celebrate his legacy as a major league umpire.

Hall of Famer and Chinooks minority owner, Robin Yount, will be honored with a bobblehead, courtesy of GS Design, on July 9th. Gill, the Chinooks mascot, will be featured on a bobblehead on July 21st.

This announcement comes with the release of the Chinooks promotional schedule for the 2013 season. The Chinooks enter their second season in the summer collegiate Northwoods League and will play their 35 home games at Kapco Park, on the campus of Concordia University in Mequon.

Opening day for the Lakeshore Chinooks will be Thursday, May 30th at 6:35pm vs. the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. June 4th will mark the One Year Anniversary of the Chinook’s first game at Kapco Park, and fans will walk away with a poster showcasing the top moments from the Chinooks 2012 inaugural season, presented by US Foods.

On June 7th, the Chinooks begin a 4-piece Wall Decal collector series giveaway. The other three dates are June 14th, July 12th, and July 26th. On June 11th, Cedar Crest Ice Cream presents Gill’s Birthday Party. Gill and his mascot friends will participate in a pre-game kickball game. Fans can also get autographs and photos from mascots in attendance.

June 16th is Father’s Day at the ballpark, when fans will receive a Chinooks Umbrella presented by Techteriors. All Friday home games will feature the popular Leinenkugel’s Honey Weiss Friday Fish Fry.  The Lakeshore Chinooks also feature these weekly events:

Mondays: VIP Autograph Mondays  

Wednesdays: Highland House Concert Series

Thursdays: Pepsi Family Days (6/6, 6/20, 7/11)

Fridays: Leinenkugel’s Honey Weiss Friday Fish Fry

Sundays: Cedar Crest Kids Starting Lineup
