3 Injured in Chain Reaction Car Crash

Five-car accident caused when driver didn't brake for cars ahead, which were slowing for turning vehicle.

Three people were injured in a five-car crash on Wednesday on Highway 33 in Saukville.

The chain reaction accident occurred when one car didn’t slow down and bumped into one car in front of it, then a second car and a third car. The first two cars were sent in opposite directions, one across the oncoming traffic lane and the other landing in the ditch in front of Schmit Bros. The third car rear-ended the fourth car in front of it.

All cars had been slowing down for a sixth car, waiting to turn. A witness said the driver of the first car had been going the speed limit, which is 45 mph.
