A man who owed a Saukville resident $40 called police because he was having trouble breathing after a fight with man he owed money.

The 22-year-old Saukville man called the police department at 12:11 a.m. Aug. 8 while in the 400 block of Church Lane, according to police reports. The man told police he was having trouble breathing.

When officers found him, they noticed his shirt was ripped open and he was very "distraught," police reports said. His left ear was bleeding, he had a swollen right eye and marks on his back.

The man was reluctant to say what happened to him, but eventually admitted to police that he was beat up in a neighbor's basement because he owed the man $40, the reports said. The man told police the 26-year-old Saukville resident had used brass knuckles to beat him up.

Police are requesting charges against the 26-year-old through the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Department.
