Child Porn Found in Apartment of Port Man, Registered Sex Offender

A 40-year-old Port Washington resident who was previously charged with several counts of sexual assault of a child is now facing charges for possession of child pornography.

A 40-year-old Port Washington resident who was previously charged with several counts of sexual assault of a child is now facing charges for possession of child pornography.

Paul Ammerman appeared in court Tuesday in connection with five felony charges of possession of child pornography and was released on a $50,000 cash bond, with the condition that he have no contact with anyone younger than 18. He is set to appear in court at 10 a.m. Thursday for a status hearing.

On Feb. 1, Ozaukee Sheriff's detectives assisted Probation and Parole Agents while they search the apartment of Ammerman, a registered sex offender, according to a press release from the sheriff's department. Detectives found "an anatomically correct female sex toy, other sexual devices and pornographic videos" during their search.

In examining "computers and other electronic devices" from Ammerman's apartment, officials found "evidence of child pornography," the release said. Requests for the child pornography charges stemmed from this finding.

This is not the first time Ammerman has been held for related charges.
