Saukville Man Facing Charges After Pointing Gun at Mom While Drunk
Suspect told police he had been drinking "a lot" before the incident took place.
A 52-year-old Saukville man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at his mother while drunk.
His mom had stopped at his house to drop off some mail.
Stephen L. Strehlow, 590 N. Mill St., was charged in Ozaukee County Circuit Court on Wednesday with one count of second-degree reckless endangerment, one count of possession of a firearm while intoxicated and one count of pointing a firearm at another person. If convicted, he faces up to 11-1/2 years in prison and $45,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:
On Jan. 27, Strehlow’s mother and brother came to his home in the 500 block of North Mill Street to drop off some mail because she had been taking care of his bills while he was in rehab. She knocked on the door, but he didn’t respond. She saw him laying on the couch, so she knocked on the window, but he still didn’t respond.

She then bundled up his mail and left it on the porch and began to walk back to her son’s truck. However, while walking back, her other son yelled to watch out and then she saw Strehlow walking towards them with a loaded gun.
When police arrived, Strehlow said he had been drinking "a lot" and was "(expletive) hammered." Police found his loaded .22 caliber pistol and gave Strehlow a blood alcohol test, which registered a 0.228.
Strehlow is free on $1,000 bond while awaiting trial.
