Homeless Man Steals Beer, Chugs it When Cops Catch Up to Him

The man stole a case of Miller Lite from the basement at J's Sports Bar.

A homeless man made it out of the bar with stolen beer, and when police caught up to him he still wasn't quite ready to give it up.

Saukville police received a call from J's Sports Bar after a patron told the bartender he saw a man come up from the basement with a case of beer, according to police reports. The man had been drinking in the bar, but snuck away to the basement and came up with a case of Miller Lite.

When he realized he had been caught, he took off toward Church Street, according to police reports. When police caught up with him, the 54-year-old homeless man was hiding under some trees near Immaculate Church. The man began chugging the stolen beer when he saw the officers were near.

He was arrested for two outstanding warrants.
