Just Chilling? Officers Find Pot on Man Leaving Picnic Table

Saukville police officers were patrolling near Dominoes Pizza when they spotted the man.

Hiding marijuana in your pocket is not a way to escape a ticket, as this man worked.

Police were conducting routine patrol near Domino's Pizza, 148 S. Foster Dr., Saukville, at about 11 p.m. July 22, when they noticed a man alone on a picnic table on the south side of the business, according to police reports. Police approached the 21-year-old Illinois man, who quickly got up from the picnic table, removed an item from his mouth, immediately attempted to place it in his right front pocket. The man then walked away from the scene.

Police turned on their lights to get the man's attention, according to reports. He stopped and started adjusting his right front pocket.

When asked what he had placed in his pocket, the man stated marijuana, according to reports. Police also found a glass pipe used to smoke the marijuana.  

The man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and requests for charges were sent to the Ozaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
