Man Changes Plea to Guilty in Sexual Assault Case

Waukesha man pleads guilty to having sex with a 15-year-old Ozaukee County girl; sentencing set for December.

The 44-year-old Waukesha man pleaded guilty to three felony counts in relation to the incident on Tuesday.

Kevin Conry, 120 Cambridge Ave., Waukesha, had in connection with the six felony counts charged against him. In entering a guilty plea, the state dropped three of the charges.

Conry met the girl in spring while using the social network site myYearbook.com, according to the criminal complaint. The two began exchanging flirtatious text messages, which soon became sexual in nature. The girl told Conry that she was only 15, he replied that her age did not matter. Conry met the girl at her parents' residence on April 21, where they allegedly engaged in sexual activity. Conry and the girl allegedly spent some time parked on the bluff in Port Washington after that initial meeting.

Conry admitted to meeting the girl on myYearbook.com, and admitted to knowing her age. He said he deleted any graphic pictures and denied any activity on the bluff, though he did admit to having intercourse at the girl's house earlier in April.

Conry initially faced up to 225 years in prison and fines of up to $600,000. Because of the three charges being dropped, he now faces a total of up to 120 years in prison and up to $300,000 in fines; the state is recommending 24 years in prison with six years of extended supervision.

The change of a plea from not guilty to guilty cancels a jury trial that had originally been scheduled for Oct. 19. Conry is now scheduled to appear in court at 3 p.m. Dec. 13 for a sentencing hearing.
